[Pregnancy] Glucometer
So today I had a Dr.'s appointment but was told to go to the pharmacy first to pick up a few items! I get there and I'm presented with 6 boxes. After I leave the pharmacy I go and check-in at Women's Health. I meet with the RN and we go over info about pregnancy diabetes and goals on what my blood sugar levels should be. She gives me a newsletter that has a sample menu of things to eat on my "special diet". It's actually not too bad! After we go over that we open all the boxes that I picked up from the pharmacy. It's the glucometer! A meter I have to use 4 times a day to check my sugar levels! So I have to prick my finger first thing in the morning before I eat breakfast, 1 hour after breakfast, 1 hour after lunch and 1 hour after dinner. Yikes! Oh well! I will do whatever I need to do to make sure me and baby girl are doing ok! I have to log my results in a little booklet and a nurse will call me every Friday evening for me to report my levels. At least until she's born!
