This year hubby turned the BIG 30!! Yup! He is no longer in the 20's! Plus...the 30's are the new 20's anyway! For those of you who don't really know my hubby, he's a pretty chill guy! He doesn't really care to go out and party much! Never wants to be the center of attention! But for his 30th birthday I wanted to make sure he knew how special he is to us so I decided to throw him a surprise party!
I couldn't have done this without the help of his mom! I couldn't throw the party here cause there was no way I would be able to prepare without him knowing so I asked his mom what she thought about the idea. She totally loved it (and I'm glad) so we started discussing the plan. We figured that we would have "dinner" at her house for his birthday and all of our friends will be there when we show up.
His mom cooked up a good feast (as usual)! On the menu we had...pork roast, Hawaiian barbecue chicken, garlic shrimp, pancit, macaroni salad, rice, green beans in black bean sauce and fried stuffed won-tons. I didn't get to take a picture of all the food on the table but here's a picture of my plate!
I didn't get to take a picture of the desserts either but we had petite carrot cake bites, fruit pizza and of course the birthday cake (which I did take a picture of)! The cake was marble with whipped cream! Yumm-o!
The party turned out perfect! He was definitely surprised!! I thought I blew it a couple of times (due to pregnant brain...LOL!) but thank goodness he never caught on! Here are some pictures from the evening!
